With deepest gratitude for his many contributions to the Contact Lens Society of America, we are saddened by the loss of John E. Parrelli, FCLSA. John unexpectedly passed away on December 17, 2016. His dedication and commitment to Opticianry was far reaching and we are blessed that he gave so much of his time and talent to CLSA. As a Fellow of the Contact Lens Society of America, he mentored others, encouraging them to continue to learn, and to become a Fellow themselves. Aware of John's skills, CLSA recruited him to be its Treasurer during a critical transition time for the organization. Through his vast knowl- edge of running a successful business, he helped CLSA build a solid foundation from which to grow its membership and expand its mission. He shared this knowledge with all members as a regular contributor of EyeWitness in its "Bottom Line" column. He was acknowledged for some of his contributions as Member of the Year in 2014. Most importantly, John should be remembered for his commitment to young opticians and students of opticianry. Through his advocacy for Opticianry in Massachusetts, he recognized that to ensure a successful future, it was critical to invest in the next generation of Opticians. To his loving family, to his Parrelli Optical family, to all his friends and colleagues, CLSA extends its deepest sympathy, and we stand with you to continue the legacy that he so diligently built. With our greatest gratitude and appreciation, we are so thankful that he chose to be a part of our organization. http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/bostonglobe/obituary.aspx?pid=183124903
